First, students in different classes need to become friends. They can do this by:
Sending videos or emails to say hello.
Recording videos that show their school or town.
Meeting online using Zoom or Google Meet to play games or ask questions. This can happen live (synchronous) or at different times (asynchronous).
Next, students will find how their schoolwork connects to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These are big goals for a better world.
Even if the classes are learning different subjects, everything connects to the SDGs in some way.
Then, students will study and research ways to solve the global problem they chose.
They can learn by asking questions, working on projects, or doing research.
They will find out what people are already doing to help with the problem in their town, country, or other countries.
Finally, the partner classes will work together to help with the global problem. They can help in their local area, their country, or even worldwide.
This "Collective Action" means everyone works together to make a difference.
This final step is very important for all Global Classroom Projects. It's more than just sending letters like old pen-pal programs.
