Step 1: Connect and Confirm

FCPS teacher makes email contact within 3 days.
Partner teacher replies within 3 days.
Teachers determine within 1 week if they would like to partner for the project.
The FCPS teacher completes the Partnership Confirmation Form.

You must have your partner's school leaders name and email address to complete this form.
Step 2: Administrative Approval
Notify school leaders immediately that the MOU is coming.
School leaders must sign and return the document within 5 days of receipt.
Memorandum of Understanding - A copy of this will be emailed by the GCP team to your school leaders. No further action is required by you unless it is not sent back.
Step 3: Teacher Login
Log into your GCP Google account (login credentials will be sent to your email) and activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) immediately on first login to avoid account lockout.
Join the Google Classroom using the Code pgwhuvbv or by clicking the Classroom Invitation Link.
Step 4: Teacher Planning
Set up a meeting with your partner to complete the Conversaton Organizer
Each teacher should complete the Global Classroom Project Plan and submit it to the team.
FCPS Teachers Only: If you plan to use the GCP Google Domain, submit your Student ID#s to be added to the Digital Resource Consent tool for families. Additional information on the GCP Digital Consent Process can be found on the Project Resources page under FCPS Teachers Only.

Step 5: Tech Set Up
Provide students with access to technology tools. Google Workspace is recommended. Padlet is an alternative if Google is not able to be used, and for our youngest participants.
Optional: Partner school IT whitelists @fcpsgcp.org if using existing Google Workspace for Education domain.
You must first log in to your @fcpsgcp.org Google account to access these links.

Google Student Account Request Submission Link (Teachers will attest to having received parental permission for all student account requests included on the submission form).
*Note: Existing Google Workspace schools outside of FCPS can alternatively whitelist the @fcpsgcp.org domain. FCPS students will still need new Google accounts, and international students may use existing Google accounts.
Step 6: Begin your Project
Begin your Global Classroom Project as shared in your Global Classroom Project Plan. Begin synchronous and/or ansynchronous learning activities.

Step 7: Sharing
Share your Global Classroom partnerships by posting digital artifacts, video links, and project photos directly to Google Classroom.

Step 8: Student Self-Reflection
Conclude your virtual exchange experience by asking students to complete the student self-reflection to capture their growth.
