2024-2025 FAFSA 

The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been released.  Completing the FAFSA will determine your eligibility for various federal grants and loans.  It is also commonly required to receive need-based financial aid from higher education institutions and outside scholarships.   

Students/families can create FSA IDs (username and password) at StudentAid.gov/fsa-id. The FSA ID must be created before you plan to complete the form, because there is a 3-5 day verification process. The student and all contributors must have their own individual FSA ID.   A contributor may include the student, the student’s spouse, a biological or adoptive parent, and/or the stepparent depending on your family’s situation.

Schools that require the FAFSA as part of their financial aid application process, likely have a priority deadline. Current deadlines for Virginia institutions can be found at https://www.schev.edu/financial-aid/financial-aid-deadlines and will be updated as changes occur.
