There is no fee to participate, as this program is grant funded. We encourage all who are willing to participate fully in our program to apply. Participants and their families are expected to commit to the entire experience including pre and post camp activities as well as the three-week camp in July.

Enrollment Process
Students (entering grades 5-9 in August 2023):
Why would you like to participate in the 2023 FCPS1 STARTALK Environmental Explorers? Tell us by:
creating video of no more than 3-minutes
drawing a picture
participating in a telephone call
We want to know why you want to learn Arabic AND why you want to participate in this particular program about the environment.
Parents/Guardians:
Complete the Registration Form
After submitting the form, a link will be emailed to you. Use it to;
Upload your child's application video or picture (unless a telephone call was requested)
Upload a letter to the FCPS1 Startalk Staff describing why your child is a good candidate for this program. (If necessary, you can email your letter to the FCPS1 Startalk Staff (startalk@fcps1.org).
A member of the FCPS1 STARTALK staff will contact you regarding final enrollment.
Spaces will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

the word "Application" in the subject line
your child's full name in the letter
tell us why your child is a good candidate for this program
