Sally Mann is an American Photographer. She is know for taking pictures of her family. She mostly photographs her 3 children and her husband. Sally Mann's photography from her book Immediate Family has sparked controversy due to the way she photographs her children. Some of her images portray her children in adult poses, often smoking cigarettes. She also has a photograph of her son Emmitt with a bloody nose. She took the time to have him remove his shirt to show the blood dripping down his chest. Another image she has is of her daughter Victoria, Victoria was having an allergic reaction and her eyes swelled up. She took a picture of this an titled the image "Damaged Child" As you can tell, her images are often shocking to the viewer.
