Want to act onstage in a theatrical production? Audition NOW for the fall play!
Cast members in the BHStage drama club must be dedicated and committed to growing as artists. Only serious candidates will be considered for this year's cast. Students interested in performing in the show must audition VIRTUALLY to be considered for a role. Cast will meet and rehearse for the show on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS from 2:30-5pm after school until we get closer to "tech week" where rehearsals will end later and become more frequent. Actors must have skills pertaining to professionalism, response to direction, and an ability to embody and perform as a character. Previous experience is not required, but welcome.
Choose a character you are interested in autitioning for! Character descriptions are at the bottom of this page!
Choose a 60-90 second long comedic monologue to perform. Sample comedic monologues are attached at the bottom of this page for those who cannot find a suitable monologue online. The best monologues are those performed by characters similar to the one(s) you are auditioning for. Monologues performed must only have school-appropriate language and may be mildly edited for time limits.
Complete the Audition Application by Monday September 8 at 3pm to be considered for the cast. In the form, you will upload a video audition and headshot.
Your audition should be a 60-90 second long comedic monologue. See tips below for submitting a great audition video!
Your headshot should be a nice, recent photo of JUST YOU without any filters or edits.
Attend the mandatory cast & crew meeting Tuesday September 9th after school to turn in a contract and receive basic information regarding the production. New members will also receive new member education via veteran drama club members and leadership.
Callbacks Thursday September 11th after school by invitation only. Check the Casting page on Wednesday to see if you were invited to audition in-person.
The cast list posts Friday September 12th here on the production website. Only those who attend all required days and submit materials on time and correctly will be considered for the cast. Directors may also choose to host a final callback this day right after school for select individuals.
*AUDITION WEEK SCHEDULE*
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Audition due! MEETING + contract due! Callbacks Cast list posted @ 5 pm
When recording your video audition, begin by slating (your full name, grade, and role you wish to be considered for).
Wait a second after your slate to ready yourself and then perform!
Be sure to adjust your share settings on your video if uploading from Google Drive. Change the default "Restricted" setting on the video to "BHS Staff." If the file size is too large, complete these same steps, then copy and paste the "shareable link" onto a blank Google Doc and upload the doc to the file upload section of the Audition Form.
Other tips
-Film standing up. We should be able to see from at least your chest & up, but full body is also perfectly okay. Move around to show us your ability to express physically.
-If you mess up, start over and only submit your best take.
-Practice and prepare EARLY. If you run into tech problems and cannot submit your audition because you waited until the last minute, we cannot guarantee you a role. Only those who submit correctly and on time will be considered for roles in this show.

She is a cross between the beautiful lady and Miss Piggy. She is kind, charming and shares Robin’s quest to aid the needy. However, she has a strange obsession with skin conditions.
Prince John (key secondary character) (adult: twenties to fifties) Prince John is the head bad guy – typically evil, selfish, greedy and has positively no regard for the welfare of England or its people. He seeks to take over the throne of his brother, Richard, and be thoroughly despicable.
