Standards:
Coefficient: The number that is multiplied by the variable in an algebraic expression.
Distributive Property: For all real numbers a, b, and c, a(b + c) = ab + ac, and a(b - c) = ab - ac.
Equivalent Equations: Expressions that have the same value for all values of the variables.
*Infinitely Many Solutions: When the variable in an equation can hold any value and the equation will be true.
Intersection: Lines that have one and only one point in common.
*Inverse Operation: Operations that undo each other: addition and subtraction, or multiplication and division.
Linear Equations: An equation whose solutions form a straight line on a coordinate plane.
*No Solutions: There is no value which can make the equation true.
*One Solution: A value or values that make an equation true.
*Substitution: To replace a variable with a number or another expression in an algebraic expression.
*System of Equations: A set of two or more equations that contain two or more variables.
Variables: symbols used to represent a quantities that can change.
