• A Physical Therapy Assistant Apprentice helps ensure that each treatment session runs smoothly by preparing the therapy room according to proper procedures and setting up equipment such as exercise tools, heat and ice therapies, or electrical stimulation devices. They greet patients warmly, assist them in getting ready for therapy, and help address any questions or concerns to ensure comfort and confidence. The apprentice also supports patient learning by demonstrating how to use equipment safely and correctly.

Maintaining confidentiality is essential, and the apprentice follows all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient information. They help keep the therapy environment clean, organized, and safe, sterilizing equipment and managing supplies to ensure the treatment area is always ready. Additional responsibilities may include tracking inventory, handling front desk duties such as scanning, copying, faxing, answering calls, and scheduling appointments. As needed, the apprentice may also assist with other tasks to support the overall functioning of the clinic.
