Each student has a school Google account (GAFE= Google Apps for Education)
You will log in using the credentials give to you by your guidance counselor.
UserName: Last two digits of your birth year+firstinitial+lastname @ my.fcps.org
PW= at first it is your student ID number (until you change it) Everyone must change their password to something other than your student ID number. Make sure you remember what you change it to, and include numbers, symbols, uppercase letters and lower case letters. It may not contain your first or last name. It must be at least 8 characters.
If you have an issue with your password, ask your teacher to contact Mr. Perez or Mrs. Diggs
You will automatically be set up in Schoology courses within two days of enrolling in our school.
Students ONLY: You will find the Schoology link in the "FCPS Bookmarks" at the top left side of your bookmark bar.
Parents ONLY: You can access Schoology for your child by going to www.schoology.com and enter the email account you gave the school at your child's enrollment. Then click "Forgot Your Password." After checking your email for a reset link, you will be able to access Schoology. Then you can toggle on the upper right side between your parent account and you child's Schoology account.
Using the APP: If you are trying to use the Schoology app, you will want to put in "FREDERICK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS" as the school when you are prompted...NOT Monocacy.
Ask your teacher to contact Mr. Perez via email, Skype, or phone call.
Grades are in Schoology for each course (class).
On your schedule the Advisory teacher is the one where you will have social emotional learning (SEL) lessons and other school-wide lessons and events. Every Tuesday and Thursday you will meet with the Advisory teacher during the ELT time spot from 12:51-1:21. This is like a homeroom teacher. You might not have this teacher for any of your other classes, but she or he can still help you with many things including:
giving tips to organize your classwork and homework
advice on how to be successful in middle school
identifying ways to discuss tough topics
Our students have a monthly incentive to reward positive behavior. Some examples are teacher vs student volleyball games, raffle drawings, door decorating contests, student of the month.
