Week of September 30, 2024
We have another exciting week planned for Pack this week!
Monday - Students will have a dialogue with each other around this question: “What is your favorite school subject?” Students may also answer the question, “What is one (feasible/realistic) thing you would like to change about your school day?” Dialogue circles promote communication skills, relationship building, and are a way for students and staff to connect on interests and preferences.
Tuesday - On Tuesday, we will learn more about perspective and the importance of being reflective. This is in alignment with the social and emotional learning competencies of self-awareness and social awareness.
Wednesday - We will continue reading chapters 11-13 in the book, The Seventh Most Important Thing. Staff and students will discuss the question, “What keeps you motivated when you feel like quitting?” Here is an example of the 7th grade slide deck.
Thursday - On Thursday, we will continue to learn about perspective, specifically in the area of empathy. We will focus on IB Learner Profile Traits: Reflectiveness
Friday - Fun Friday! Students will be playing a game for Fun Friday in Pack!
We look forward to a great week!
Hi 6th Grade Families!
Our 6th graders had another welcome to Mary Ellen Henderson moment this week as our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) Store opened for business! The MEHMS PBIS model, a reward system to encourage making good choices that reflect our IB profile traits, is an exemplar and our Huskies love it! For context, our students earn Bark Bucks, and can redeem them for a variety of prizes, ranging from a sticker to a lego set.
A big shout out to our staff that support the initiative and to our Huskies for the buy in.
Have a great weekend, and ask your Husky about their most recent purchase!

6th Grade Administrator
Hello 7th and 8th grade families,
This week, our administrative team visited many classrooms and observed both 7th and 8th graders deeply engaged in their learning. From uncovering artifacts to identify their origins to conducting lab experiments aimed at investigating suspects based on the properties of elements, students were involved in a wide range of interactive and educational activities. We were excited to see so many fun and engaging methods being used to enhance their learning experiences. Additionally, I had the opportunity to watch students rehearsing for this weekend's Mickey's Music Spectacular!
It's been an incredible week filled with learning, collaboration, and creativity. We're excited to see our students thriving in so many ways. Today, their hard work paid off as the PBIS store opened during lunch, and many students eagerly claimed their well-deserved rewards. Let’s keep supporting and encouraging their efforts as we look forward to more exciting events and academic achievements ahead!
Happy Friday!
