Updates from Meridian High School
Have a wonderful summer!
School starts August 18th.
Teachers will inform students of the supplies needed for each class during the first block in August. You’re welcome to purchase basic supplies in advance and then pick up any class-specific items during the first week of school.
As the school year comes to a close, we want to extend heartfelt congratulations to all juniors completing the first year of their IB Diploma Program coursework! Whether they took an exam or two this year, completed the English Individual Oral this past month, or began brainstorming topics for their internal assessments next year, we are proud of them for reaching these milestones in their journey. Your students have demonstrated growth in critical thinking, perseverance, and international-mindedness—hallmarks of the IB experience. We thank you for your ongoing support in fostering this learning community.
We also want to celebrate our IB Diploma and Career-related Programme candidates for their commitment and progress in meeting the rigorous demands of their respective pathways. For families of rising seniors in the Diploma Programme, please expect a detailed update next week outlining key milestones and responsibilities for the year ahead. Until then, we wish all of our students and families a joyful, restful, and well-earned summer break.
The Senior parking lottery is now open for all students in the Class of 2026. Fill out this form and upload a copy of the student’s Driver’s License to be entered into the lottery.
Selected students will be notified through their student email on August 5th. That email will include the VDOE parking application, the Meridian rules and regulations for parking on campus, and information for paying the parking fee. The application, signed rules and regulations, and the parking fee ($250) will need to be received by Meridian before your student gets their parking permit.
The last day to enter the lottery is Monday, August 4th. The drawing will take place on Tuesday, August 5th.
Student Services will be hosting a college application workshop for rising seniors interested in getting a head start on the college application process. The session will take place on Thursday, August 7th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Library.
This is a working session for students only, so please come prepared with a laptop or device and questions.

Also, any responses to questions on the school-specific tabs will not be retained, and school-specific essay prompts may not be finalized till August 1st.
