Last Week: Loss to Warren County 29-28
The Mustangs put up a tremendous fight on the road at a tough Warren County team before eventually falling 29-28. The passing game was on display with Cruz Ruoff throwing for 209 yards and Ben Kozbelt catching 2 TDs and compiling 161 yards. Oumar Thompson added another 83 on the ground. Jack Mossburg once again paced the defense with 12 tackles and an interception.
Come out and support the seniors in their final home game as the Mustangs will take on a tough Fauquier Falcons team with a playoff berth potentially on the line!

11/4 Regional Tournament vs Maggie Walker
The Girls Volleyball season came to an end on Monday night in a playoff showdown against Maggie Walker. After falling behind by two sets, the Mustangs staged an impressive comeback, pushing the game to a nail-biting fifth set where they were ultimately edged out 13-15.
The team’s season record of 16-12 reflects their dedication and hard work throughout the conference. Despite the tough loss, the Mustangs can be proud of their resilience and teamwork, which kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Congratulations to the players and coaches on a memorable season!

11/6 Regional Tournament @ Atlee
The Mustangs incredible first year as a program ended with a loss to 5A power Atlee outside of Richmond. The boys put together a 7-11 record, stellar for a first year program.
Thanks to everyone who made it happen and the program will only continue to grow and improve!

11/15: State Meet in Blacksburg
Some unseasonably warm temperatures and tickets to States on the line lead to some impressive performances by the Mustangs. Both teams improved on their Regional rankings coming into the meet, as the Girl's Team finished 4th with 109pts and a two spot improvement over their Region ranking. Michelle Malheiro and Ally Campbell led the Mustangs with their 7th and 15th place finishes, earning All-Region medals. Congrats to Michelle Malheiro for qualifying as an individual for States!
The Boy's Team finished 7th place with 185pts, and improved one spot over their Region ranking. The Boy's Team was led by William Anderson's 21st place finish and Kyle Kuck's 35th place finish!
Overall, they had 4 runners in the top 45 places.
Both teams kept their impressive Team Regional finish streaks alive, as the Girl's team has finished top 5 at Regionals for 24 consecutive years and the Boy's team has finished top 8 at Regionals for 23 consecutive years!
Michelle will race at the 3A State Meet at Buford Meredith XC Course at Blacksburg, VA on Saturday, November 15th.
Last Week: 34-13 win over Fauquier County
The young Mustangs finished the season over .500 with a record of 4-3 following a 34-13 drubbing at Fauquier on Wednesday. The offense was humming with Abe Ellis totalling 113 yards and adding a 90 yard kick return. The defense was flying around, allowing only 13 points to a previously high flying Fauquier offense. Vincent Aguilar paced the special teams with a touchback and a 30 yard field goal.
Offseason workouts will start soon, so anyone interested in playing for the JV team next year should reach out to Coach Anderson or Coach Zelenka soon!
