Will the classes be smaller?
There are no planned changes to class size.
What is on each level?
The lowest floor is for performing arts and athletics; the gym level will have both the aux and main gym; the main level will have the main office, auditorium, and cafeteria/kitchen; the second level will have the media center and tv production; the third, fourth and fifth floors will be the rest of the academic spaces such as classrooms and labs.
Will elevators be open to everyone or just the injured?
The elevators will be available to both students and staff.
How will we keep it from being overcrowded?
The new school capacity will be 1200 students with the ability to expand to serve up to 1,500 students. The current enrollment is under 1000 so there is plenty of room to grow.
Will all classrooms look the same?
The classrooms will be similar sizes but will be located throughout the school so will vary in look.
Will G-F options be available?
Yes
Will there be easier locks on the lockers?
Yes, lockers will have a keypad with a code.
When will we get to use the extra facilities/ study areas? (We don't have a lot of time between classes)
The study areas will be used during study halls, during class time for project-based learning, small group work, and collaboration, during lunch, and after school.
Where will there be lockers?
Lockers will be on the academic floors, but they will not be assigned to students. Instead, students will be able to use them on a daily basis as needed.
Will we have a tour in eighth grade near the end of the school year?
Yes, there will be a tour before opening.
Will the classrooms be separated by grade?
The assignment of classrooms has not occurred yet.
Is the vote still open for the new road name?
The vote is closed. It has been named Mustang Alley.
Will we be toured before we transition from the middle school to the high school?

The cafeteria will be on the main level and the cafe will be on the second level.
Where will the middle school have recess if the field (grass) is getting demolished?
Middle school students will have access to the new fields once they are completed.

There are two gyms, the auxiliary gym and the main gym. The aux gym will have a 84' long basketball court and the main gym will have a 94' long basketball court. The main gym will have bleachers for 1500.

The new school drainage has been designed to ensure flooding does not occur.

We are constantly working through the budget with the design build team and do not intend to cut portions of the school out to make the budget.

Can we use the elevators or will we have to use the stairs for eternity?
The elevators will be available to both students and staff.

The move to the new GMHS is scheduled over winter break of 2020, so students will leave the current school before winter break and then come back to the new school at the start of the new year.

The food at the cafeteria will be prepared by the GMHS kitchen staff so the food will be similar, but students will be able to walk up to multiple serving areas. The food at the cafe is intended to be grab and go style.
Will we pay an entrance fee instead of paying for food?
No. Students will be able to select food from multiple serving area, and then proceed to the cash register where lunch payment will be similar to the current system.
