Do you know what house points are? When a kid is being respectful, safe, and present in the house you get house points. The house teams are gulairs, cristada, coronata, hatchlings, and vermillion. Right now coronata has the most house points leading them to first place. Next in line is vermillion in 2nd place. Next, my house Gularis in 3rd place, also next is cristada in 4th place. Finally in 5th place is the hatchlings.
When you’re a nice student, follow directions, are respectful, and safe, you earn these house points. Getting house points helps us learn in life to be a good person as we grow up. Doing good deeds and being an excellent person helps us learn how to effortlessly do well in life and make people's day even better. When you’re respectful you're not being mean to anyone. When you're safe you're keeping yourself safe and not hurting yourself or anyone else.
In summary, house points are a good system for the third grade and the more house system rules we follow, the more benefits it gives us, even if we aren’t in first place.
Has your grade been on a school field trip this year yet? I am so excited to tell you that second graders will go on a field trip this December 10, 2024! We shall go to the Legacy Theater for our gield trip. how lucky we ar that our school is only 20 minutes from this theater. The name of the show is Willy Wonka- Children Series 2024-2025. It is a type of musical theater where you can see the cast sing and dance in the play. I can't wait to hear the cast sing the "Oompa Loompa Song" and the "I've Got a Golden Ticket." I wonder if the play will have chocoate water falls or nutty squirrels?
Second grades will split the students into two groups. The first group will leave school around 8:30 AM and the second group will leave around 10:30 AM. My goup is the second group so I shall come back to school before 1:00 PM. There are a total of 55 students, teachers and chaperones from Crabapple Lane Elementary School that have signed up to attend at this time slot. Based on the reservation that I saw in the Legacy Theater's website, my group will share the theater with White Oak Elementary school 4th graders on this day.
This year, the theater will have the show from November 8th to December 15th. However, the show is a little different on the weekend compared to weekdays. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the theater will play the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But from Monday to Thursday, the theater will play Willy Wonka - Children Series for groups of students from different schools to see.
I can't wait to go on thei field trip! I want to see how the story is different in the theater compared to the story in the movie that I saw when I was in the cruise ship over the summer.
Expanded form and standard form and written form are three different ways of making one number. Expanded form is breaking it up like 100+20+5=125 and you add it up again. Standard form is literally writing just the basic number like 125, you're just keeping the number like that. The final form is the written form. This is like writing the number in letters. For example, if I had 3,157 in written form you would be writing, three thousand one hundred fifty seven. That's how you write written form, expanded form, and standard form

In our school, we have a performance group called the Treblemakers. The Treblemakers have two performances a year; one in fall and one in spring. Our performance this fall is Broadway musicals. We are doing many songs.
This year we are doing many songs and different people perform different songs. “Seize the Day” from the Newsies is one song with many solos and groups that sing at different times. Another song is “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins the musical, not the movie. There are different groups that play different instruments. The drums group is playing “My Shot” from Hamilton, the mallett group is playing “Do Re Mi” from The Sound of Music, and the mallett group is doing the Addams Family theme song. We are also singing “Happiness” from the musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. In the evening performance,We will sing “Oh The Things You Can Think” to introduce our spring performance of Seussical the musical. The boys are doing “I don't want to grow up” from the Peter Pan Musical and the girls are doing “What Is This Feeling” from Wicked.
Now that you know more about the Treblemakers performances, we hope to see you at the spring performance Seussical the Musical.
CLES held it's annual food drive to collect non perishable goods to share with the Real Life Center in Tyrone. With everyone's help, we were able to reach our goal of collecting over 1,000 items to send to the Real Life Center. We thank you for helping us make a difference in our community!
For surveys and advice I chose surveys. A question that I asked is, “what are you looking forward to doing for Thanksgiving or Christmas break?” What a couple fourth graders said that they are doing for Thanksgiving break is going to Orlando, relaxing on the beach, gathering with family and more things that fourth graders said.
Now what some people said when I asked them what they will be doing for Christmas break they answered by saying I will be cooking dessert by myself, going to Hawaii, seeing the mountains and more. It looks like more people are going to vacation somewhere.
Dear Crimson,
As I drive around with my family, I see lots of houses that already have Christmas decorations up. What about Thanksgiving?
A Thankful 5th grader
Dear Thankful 5th grader,
There are many ways you can show your are thankful. One good way is to show a thankful spirit. You can tell people at school and people that help you with after school activities what you are thankful for. You can share that with your friends, too. You can say that you are happy to be there or even show it. You can show it by smiling or just being excited that you are glad to see them. One other way to show that you are thankful is that you can make things like a craft to give. By doing that you are showing a thankful spirit.
I hope that these give you some ideas!
From,
Crimson
