On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 55 students from third, fourth, and fifth grades participated in CLES' Second Annual Econ Games compeition. The competition was created and is sponsored by the Georgia Council on Economic Education. Over three rounds, the teams applied their knowledge of economics and personal finance by creating and participating in an assembly line, taking a critical thinking test, and developing and presenting an idea for a product that solves a real-world problem. The first place 4th and 5th grade teams will advance to the Metro Atlanta Econ Games at the Federal Reserve Bank on March 21, 2025. We can't wait to hear how that competition goes. Great job, Cardinals!
Leader of the month is an honor that many kids have earned over the years. You may remember it as Student of the Month, but the name has been changed. You can earn this award like several other students have by doing things like being kind and earning house points. Every month, a student from each grade is selected by the CLES staff. If you are picked, your picture is displayed in the school, and you get to place a sign in your front yard. There are still a few months left in this school year, so you still have a chance to be chosen.
Good luck!
CLES had our Family Dance on Friday, February 28th from 6:30-8:00. Families were invited to come to school and have a great time dancing and having snacks and being with their friends. Kindergarten, First grade and Second grade students were dancing in the gym and Third grade, Fourth grade, and Fifth grade students got to hang out in the cafeteria. The theme for the party was Candyland so all the decorations looked like candy. Everyone had a fun time and we can't wait for next year's dance!
The Treblemakers are a group of 4th and 5th graders. The Treblemakers every year do two or three plays for the lower grades and the 4th and 5th graders that did not sign up for Treblemakers. One of the plays they did this year was a bunch of songs and acts in one play. The other play we haven’t seen but it’s called the Seussecele.
The Treblemakers sing and do choreography when they practice.
I am really excited about the next play that the Treblemakers do!!!!
