Fun Things to Do During Winter Break

First Step
❄️Go somewhere with snow❄️

• Building a Snowman: Building a snowman can be super fun! You can use so much creativity while you're building a snowman. To build a snowman you have to get 3 sides of a snowball: small, medium and large. You can even add accessories, for example you can add a scarf hat or even make it hold something!

• Snow Cones: Snow cones don’t just come out of a machine… you can make some with real snow! If you are craving a snow cone but there is none to be seen, just go outside and you can put some snow in a cup! After that step you're going to want some flavor, so you can add any flavor item!

• Callaway Gardens: If you want to check out a local place you should check out Callaway Gardens! Callaway Gardens has very cool Christmas lights that you can go see, there are also so many activities you can do! You can also stay overnight, it might be pretty expensive but it's definitely worth it!  Also, my favorite things to do there are riding bikes and ziplining!

In conclusion, you don't have to have snow just to do something fun during winter break! You just have to have imagination!

Operation Holiday Spirit

Are you ready to get into the spirit of winter holidays? Do you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa? Then you should keep reading! Getting into the holiday spirit is fun, yet still helpful to bring cheer! I hope that you find the info you need to get crackin’!

Christmas

This winter holiday is VERY fun to decorate! Remember, include your family members in the decorating for more fun. First, you should get out the nutcrackers and place them where you like. Once you’re done with this, put up some holly and mistletoe, and maybe some poinsettias, too! When that’s done, it’s time for the Christmas trees, the soul of Christmas decor. Get out the tree, and if it’s fake, put it together. Once fluffed and put together, it’s time for the lights! Normal colored lights are best for not too much distraction. Take a piece of garland and wrap it around the tree. Then (you HAVE to do this for ‘best night ever’ purposes) make sure you have people helping you hang ornaments. You should be finished after this. Enjoy your Christmas decor!

Hanukkah

If you celebrate Hanukkah, keep reading! It’s time to start spreading some Hanukkah cheer! First, set up your table with blue and white utensils, table runner, and centerpiece. Now, set up your Hanukkah tree. If you're buying presents right now, it’s best to wrap them up in blue and white. Once you’re done, set up your menorah. Now celebrate!

Kwanzaa

If you’re celebrating Kwanzaa, it’s best to read this. Put up an orange table runner and then a nice display of corn, pumpkins, and yams in the center of the table. In the middle of the display, it’s time for the kinara and candles! If you want, you can add a wine glass in front (or behind) the kinara. Time for the fruit tree! If fake, put your tree together and fluff it, too. If the fruit tree is not fake, then just fluff it. Once put up, it’s time to place the ornaments on the tree. Make sure family members help since it’s more fun to do with other people. Once set up, put the presents under the tree! You’re now ready to say,”Habari Gani!”

THE Buffalo  BILLS

                The Buffalo Bills are a football team and they are one of the best. The Bills have 10 wins and 3 losses. Their coach is Sean McDermott and he led his team to 10 wins. He is 50 years old. They have the best quarterback this season so far.  They have not won a superbowl. The Bills lost 4 superbowl games. The next game they are going to play is against the Detroit Lions on Sunday The Bills are playing the San Francisco 49ers. They lost against the Rams. The Bills started to get more points. The Bills stadium is 51 years old. The person that owns the Bills Stadium is  Erie County.

Holly’s first basketball game

     On Saturday December 7th, I had my first basketball game! My team is called The Horned Frogs. Before the basketball game I felt nervous and excited, but my coaches are very nice. They are called Coach Lizzie and Coach Steff. Our uniforms are grey, green and black. We played against The Baylor Bears. My friends Anya and Mayor were on the opposing team but luckily for me, Skylar Mynatt was on the Horned Frogs, too!

At 9am they played a song and both teams ran out onto the court. The referee introduced us and then he blew the whistle. The game was so fast, we were sprinting backwards and forwards. Anya was guarding me very closely so it was difficult for me to get the ball. At half time we were winning but only just. In the third quarter the Bears went ahead by 4 points but we came back and I even got an assist! In the final quarter our team scored again and again and when the final whistle blew the score was 20 -12. The Horned Frogs won the game!

I was so happy. The coach passed out stars at the end of the game. I got the white star for passing. I can’t wait until our next game on Saturday.

Detroit Lions

                         The Detroit Lions are a great NFL team based out of Detroit, Michigan. Historically they had the worst record in the NFL. Currently they are the best! Their record is 12-2. Their record changed because they lost to the Bills 48-42 December 15th. Their next game is against the Chicago Bears Sun,Dec 22 1:00pm EST. Their best running back David Montgomery had a MCL tear. The MCL is a part of the knee. A MCL means he has damage to the medial collateral ligament. He is out for the rest of the season.Their best wide receiver is Amon Ra St. Brown with 1,056 yards.

 Their Coach is Dan Campbell he has coached 4 teams Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins, Saints and the Lions. Dan signed a 5 year $11,375,000 contract with the Lions. Dan was a former Tight End for the Detroit Lions then started coaching the Lions. Dan Campbell's wife is Holly Campbell. Dan is 48 years old.

  The Detroit Lions have never made it to a Super Bowl. But with this coach they have a very good chance to make it to the big game! Everyone wants the Super Bowl to be the Lions and the Chiefs. The Lions probably will with a record of 12-2. The Vikings and the Eagles have the same record. Their stadium is called Ford Field. Overall the Lions are a great team.
