Garden News

Harvest of the Month

At Redwood and Dana Gray we focus on a fruit or vegetable each month. Our local grocery store Harvest Market donates enough produce for each student. At Redwood, the classroom teachers serve the produce and teach the students why the produce is healthy for them. At Dana Gray students learn about Harvest of the Month in the Garden Classroom as part of the Garden Program.

Harvest of the month for September is Tomatoes,

October is Beets,

November is Apples,

December is squash,

January is Dried Beans,

February is Citrus,

March is Nuts,

April is Radishes,

May is Salad greens

Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering you can work with the students during their garden time. You can also work in the garden and do "adult gardening". A combination of both are welcome. Please contact Julie the garden teacher at 961-3567.
