Winburn will be taking a field trip on Saturday, April 25, to the Lexington Sporting Club game. This is only for 8th-grade students as of now. We will take up to 30 students. We will leave at 5:30 or a little after and be back at around 9:30 p.m. Students must pay $15 by April 15 to Mr. Jones to go. They must also have above 90% eOS.
Itinerary:
5:30 p.m. - Depart Winburn Middle School
6:00 p.m. - Arrive at Lexington SC
6:00 - 6:40 p.m. - Play soccer on the outdoor mini-field, eat at food trucks (must bring their own money)
7:00 p.m. - Lexington SC game starts
9:00 p.m. - Lexington SC game ends
9:05 p.m. - Try a penalty kick on the Lexington SC field
9:10 p.m. - Depart Lexington SC
9:30 p.m. - Arrive at Winburn Middle School

The board will provide transition support, but needs your help to find parents and/or community members to nominate for the board positions outlined below. The PTSA is required to have a President, Secretary, and Treasurer in order to operate. I truly hope we can fill all of the positions since I know this is the best way for the Winburn PTSA to be able to grow and create more impact. A strong board and membership lightens the load for everyone.

WINBURN GARDEN COMMITTEE
As our Spring project, the Winburn Middle School PTSA is forming a Winburn Garden Committee to plan a school garden.
The group will consist of teachers, students, parents and community members and will make decisions including the type of garden, the scope of the project, the budget, and sustainability plans.
The PTSA has already reached out to several teachers and to the district. We are thrilled that the Winburn administration has also expressed their support and we look forward to seeing this project come to fruition.

The Emilie Szekely Holocaust Awareness Contest is for elementary, middle, and high school students in the Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) system, or those in private or parochial schools within the Lexington area. It is intended to keep alive the memory and lessons of the Holocaust, and to inspire young people to protect human rights today and in the future.

This annual contest honors the memory of Emilie Szekely, a Holocaust survivor who dedicated herself to speaking to students in Kentucky about her experiences in the Budapest Ghetto and then her transport to the Nazi death camps of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. The Jewish Federation of the Bluegrass (JFB), in conjunction with the Szekely family, is proud to sponsor this contest with the intent to bring into focus the contemporary lessons of the Holocaust. Submissions due 5/23.

- One First Prize and one Second Prize recipient will be selected from each grade category, for a total of six recipients.

From, ‘All Courses’ there’s a gear at the top right. After clicked on it, there was a toggle button ‘Show Grades’ and it was off. Once I slid it over, I could see grades.
