SCAPA Lafayette will be hosting an information night on Monday, September 14, 6PM for parents and students interested in SCAPA LHS for the 27-28 school year. We would be grateful if you can help us get the word out in your school announcements to students and families! (Attached is a graphic to share out.)
Linked below is our most recent brochure. If you would like printed copies for students, please let me know how many and I will have some sent your way.
Remember that SCAPA no longer hosts our own auditions, but rather are a part of the district-wide GT VPA auditions. Your school GT resource teachers will also have information about this process.
Parents and Guardians can sign students up for a GT VPA audition now thru September 25, 2026. FCPS Middle School audition recordings will be on assigned dates in November.
Here are four pieces of information that might be useful for students/families:
1) SCAPA Brochure -- go.fcps.net/scapabrochure
2) Introduction to SCAPA Lafayette Video: https://youtu.be/1EQkkXeReA8
3) SCAPA Lafayette Website: www.fcps.net/scapalhs
4) SCAPA Lafayette Information Meeting: Monday, September 14, 6PM, Lafayette Beeler Auditorium. 401 Reed Lane. Enter Door 3A
I am available to speak or correspond with parents or students if they have questions about the program or application process.
Thank you!
Ryan Marsh
Every month we provide a Birthday Donut breakfast for students with a birthday during that month. It is usually a Wednesday in the middle of the month. If you could help us out with donuts, milk, or juice, we would greatly appreciate it.
Mr. Peavler with text or email one week before the breakfast so that you can make plans.
If a month is not on the Form, it is because I have enough families signed up for that month.
Thank you in advance.
In accordance with Kentucky's gifted education regulations (704 KAR 3:285, Section 3 (6)), we need your input to help us create the best possible Gifted Student Service Plan (GSSP) for your child. The GSSP outlines the services and support your child will receive as a formally identified gifted and talented student (grades 4-12).
Please take a moment to complete the form below. Your feedback on your child's interests, needs, and abilities is crucial for developing an effective GSSP.
Once your child's GSSP has been created at the school, you'll be able to view it in your Infinite Campus parent portal. We'll notify you annually of the services included in the GSSP.
If you have any questions, please contact your gifted and talented school level resource teacher. If you disagree with the services determined to be provided in the GSSP, please contact Julie Gann, Associate Director ML & GT, to discuss your concerns and file a grievance if necessary.
Winburn is inviting all students to join us on a field trip to the Lexington Sporting Club soccer match on Saturday, September 19, vs. Orange County SC. We are leaving at 6:00 p.m. with the game at 7:00 p.m. Students will get to take a penalty kick after the game on the field. We will return at 10:00 p.m. It is also Hispanic Heritage Night.
The cost is $15, and students need a signed permission slip form and a 92% eOS by September 11.
LSC said if this goes well and we have enough student interest, they would be able to have our students come and tour the facilities and meet some of the players, along with donating apparel and equipment.
If you have turned in your money and permission slip, we will have more information next week!
The District Gifted & Talented (GT) Department holds auditions for students in grades 3-12 who are interested in being identified as GT in the visual and performing arts.

Dear 8th Grade Families,
The Gifted and Talented (GT) Academic High School Programs - Liberal Arts Academy and MSTC - want to make families aware that any 8th grader considering a gifted and talented high school program will need to submit an interest form by September 23, 2026. To ensure opportunity and access for districtwide GT programs for the 2026–2027 school year, required assessments needed for program inclusion will occur during the district wide approved testing window (October–November 2026).
Math, Science & Technology Center @ Dunbar - www.fcps.net/mstc is a program designed for students who are gifted in math and/or science. Information Night is Thursday, September 17th at 6:30pm in the Dunbar Theater.
Thank you!

From, ‘All Courses’ there’s a gear at the top right. After clicked on it, there was a toggle button ‘Show Grades’ and it was off. Once I slid it over, I could see grades.
