Guitar Clubs meet during the Wednesday afternoon club session times at Wellingon for 6 weeks from January through Spring Break. We offer 3rd Grade guitar club for 6 weeks and 4th/5th Grade guitar club for 6 weeks. Sign-ups will go home with all interested students in December and January. Students in Guitar Club will play the Wellington school set of guitars (kept in the Music Room) for each Guitar Club session. However, on the last day of Guitar Club, any student who would like to bring their guitar from home to show the group may bring your guitar to the music room before school for safe storage and take it home the same day!!!

If you are lucky enough to have a guitar at your house, check out these links for free lessons at home through "Music Will". You can pick and choose songs that interest you on this free website!

Follow this link to the "Take a Lesson" student zone. You can scroll through to pick a song/lesson topic that looks fun to you.

Apply what you have learned: Once you have learned the concepts in the beginner/intermediate level lessons, you can go to the "Learn a song" area of the website and learn songs that interest you!

A note about Tab: Tab is short for tablature. Tablature is a type of music notation used for fretted stringed instruments like the guitar, bass, lute, and vihuela, as well as some free reed aerophones like the harmonica. Tablature was also used for keyboard and lute music during the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
