WHEN IT STARTED
The Green team started in the fall of 2021.
21-22 - The team was 3rd grade scholars because that was our oldest group at the time. For STLP, they made a VLOG showing the car build updates and they placed in the best at level 2 at state.
22-23 - The next year the same group was 4th grade so they started the 4th grade green team. For STLP, they made time lapse videos showing the car take apart and build.
23-24 - Last year, a new group of 4th graders were chosen. For STLP they made this website. They also changed all the filters on our Corsi-Rosenthal box fans and completed energy audits in our classrooms every week.
24-25 - This year, a new group of 4th graders are in Green Team. For STLP we made this website. We are also taking apart the race car nd rebuilding it. We also have people going around and getting the recycling bins. We got 3rd place at our race this year!

A department named UK Energy donated the electric cars and reached out to STEM teachers across the state to find teacher that were interested in the program. DR. Witt secured a car for her school,but then moved to rise and brought the car with her!!
RACING
Rise was part of the 2022 inaugural race in Kentucky. We also competed in 2023 and plan to race again in 2024. Unfortunately, Rise has not placed at a race yet.
Why?

We have a green team in our school so we can do creative things like save energy,Learn AWESOME things like using different tools and to make our school better, creative and a better place
