The Music Curriculum at Veterans Park Elementary is designed to meet and exceed Kentucky and National Music Standards and the new FCPS Big Rocks for Music. Students will explore and inquire, create, perform, and reflect through a variety of musical experiences. The Music Curriculum is designed with research based and best practices including Orff, World Music Drumming, Quaver Music, MusicPlay, Kodaly, Kagan strategies, Artful Learning Arts Integration with academic curriculum, Project Based Learning, multicultural music, Chinese Celebration, and learning to play a variety of instruments ( orff xylophones, West African drumming, steel pans, dulcimers, and more). Throughout the year our students will be engaged in musical, drama, and dance opportunities.

Our specials schedule for music is included in a 5 day rotation schedule. I see each class once a week for 50 minutes.
