The tier 2/3 services are coordinated by the Student Support Team, which meets to determine student interventions and plans. Students may fall into Tier 2 and 3 based on their behavioral/social skills and or teacher/parent referrals.
Tier 2
Tier 2 services are supportive to classroom services and may be delivered by the classroom teacher or a specialist. The following may qualify a student to receive supplemental Tier 2 services:
2 or more behavior referrals
Teacher recommendation Google Form
Parent recommendations
Class Dojo percent below 85% for 5 consecutive weeks
CPS Involvement
Tier 3
Tier 3 services are intensive interventions that specifically target the skill deficits of an individual. Typically students need to move through Tier 2 before receiving Tier 3 but there are times that it may be necessary to start receiving intensive services immediately. The following may qualify a student to receive intensive Tier 3 services in addition to the Tier 2 services.
6 or more behavior referrals
Tier 2 students who are not showing progress with Tier 2 interventions over a period of 4 to 6 weeks
Students with extreme behaviors may be placed in Tier 3 without going through Tier 2
