Relocation Programs: Financial assistance is available to assist clients who are temporarily or permanently displaced from their homes due to housing code violations or for tenants who are permanently displaced from their homes due to redevelopment or scheduled demolition. Residents must have a condemnation notice issued by Code Enforcement to be eligible for services. Contact our office at (859) 300-5300 for more information or to make an appointment.

Utilities: Financial assistance is available for residents who risk service disconnection due to delinquent LEXserv billing accounts.
Housing repair assistance program: Lexington Code Enforcement works with property owners to bring their properties into compliance with the International Property Maintenance Code and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Code of Ordinances in the shortest time frame possible, ensuring a safe and beautiful Lexington.
Case management and representative payee program: Our team of social workers offer voluntary supportive services designed to empower & benefit residents with meeting their basic human needs and self-sufficiency while maintaining independence in the community. The focus of case management is to serve vulnerable adults who have the potential to become victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and self-neglect.

Kentucky American Water’s H20 Help to Others Program™ provides financial assistance for our income-eligible, residential water and wastewater customers in need. The program is administered by Community Action Council. Contact Community Action Council in Lexington at 859-233-4600 or contact the local Community Action Council in your area, which you can find by clicking here.
Electric bills - The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Winter Crisis provides assistance to eligible households experiencing a home electric crisis. Enrollment periods open multiple times each year. Click here to view more information. Applications will be accepted during the enrollment period, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Income eligibility for the program is up to and including 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Eligible households can apply for a benefit that covers the minimum needed to alleviate the crisis, up to the maximum benefit. Households can reapply each time they experience a crisis until they reach their maximum benefit. The benefits are paid directly to the household’s fuel vendor.

Baby Health Service provides free, quality preventive and primary healthcare to the uninsured children of Central Kentucky from birth through age 18. We work with families from near and far to get children into school and to support them in staying there by providing physicals, sick visits, and vaccinations. We also support children’s mental well-being, dental health, and dietary educational needs. It has been our honor to care for children for over a century!

Medicare:
Medicare is health insurance for people 65 or older. You may be eligible to get Medicare earlier if you have a disability, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), or ALS (also called Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Some people get Medicare automatically, others have to actively sign up -- it depends if you start getting retirement or disability benefits from Social Security before you turn 65. Visit https://www.medicare.gov/basics/get-started-with-medicare to get started.
Women Infant and Children (WIC): WIC services are provided at 650 Newtown Pike. To make an appointment, call 859-288-2483 (for every WIC visit, you need to bring personal identification, proof of income — like a pay stub and your home address).
Provides nutrition education and healthy foods to WOMEN who are pregnant, who are breastfeeding their babies, or who have given birth in the last six months; INFANTS newborn to 12 months, CHILDREN age 1-5 years.
First Steps program (click here): First Steps is Kentucky's Early Intervention System (KEIS) that serves children from birth to age three who have a developmental delay or a particular medical condition that is known to cause a developmental delay.
Health First Clinic (click here) HealthFirst Bluegrass is an accessible community health center serving the Lexington, Kentucky, region.
Baby Health Clinic: free clinic for families without insurance. The Clinic operates Monday through Friday for well-child checkups, school physicals, immunizations, sick visits, and medications for children through age 18 or through high school. Services are still free of charge and are only available to children without private or government assisted health insurance.
