You can support by bringing in donations to school, shipping items directly to Tates Creek Christian Church (who graciously packs our weekly food bags) from Amazon, or giving a financial donation. At Julius Marks Elementary, we serve 451 incredible students and 81% of them (that’s about 365 children) qualify for free or reduced lunch. This number represents our students, our families, and our community. Thanks to school meals, our students receive breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. But when the weekend comes, many students need extra food support. That’s where we, our staff, our partners, and supporters like you, step in.
Through our Weekend Food Bag Program, we send food home with students every Thursday, and extra before an extended break. These bags give our kids nourishment and comfort while they’re away from school and let them know someone cares.
When students receive weekend food bags, they:
✅ Come to school more regularly
✅ Learn and engage better in class
✅ Show improved behavior
✅ Feel seen and supported by their school
🍎 $3.50 = 1 weekend food bag
🧃 $14 = 4 weeks of meals for 1 child
🥪 $35 = 10 food bags
🍽️ $87.50 = Half a year of weekend meals
🎒 $175 = A full school year of weekend meals for 1 student
