Primary Talent Pool (PTP): Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade have the opportunity to participate in PTP. This informal selection process includes the collection of evidence that may include, but is not limited to:

• parent/teacher recommendations

• work samples

• MAP test scores

• screening procedures

• sociograms

• self-surveys

Students are serviced in a variety of ways. Some examples of service options include: 

• differentiation in the classroom

• curriculum compacting

• independent study

• pull-out services

NOTE: PTP ends after the completion of 3rd grade. Students in PTP are NOT automatically identified for Gifted and Talented services.
