GTAP Mission

Our mission is to maximize the potential of gifted and talented learners by providing experiences, services and curriculum which match their unique characteristics and needs. Our holistic approach helps ensures that each student is healthy, engaged, supported, nurtured, and challenged.

FCPS Gifted and Talented Program Video

The following video highlights scenes from all gifted and talented cluster sites, including Tates Creek Middle School.

Tates Creek Middle School's GTAP program is one of only two programs that is made only for students that have been identified as gifted in math, language arts and general intelligence.  All teachers have taken classes, and have been certified by a university as gifted and talented certified instructors.  All core classes, including math, language arts, social studies, and science, are gifted and talented accelerated classes.  Students that are admitted into the program are able to travel with like-minded peers throughout their schedule.

Tates Creek Middle School's GTAP program is the feeder program for the Liberal Arts Academy at Henry Clay High School.  Students who succeed in our program are secured a spot at the Academy.   However many of our students choose to attend other selective and rigorous programs.  The GTAP program has one of the highest percentage of students who are accepted into multiple programs within FCPS.
