Our Battle of the Books Program is a reading competition that encourages students in grades 3, 4, and 5 to read a predetermined list of popular titles by Mid-March and to demonstrate their knowledge of the books in a school and district-wide competition.

At Garden Springs, BOB members discuss a different book each Friday morning before school during our non-mandatory BOB Breakfast Bunch in the library. During our meeting, students enjoy a breakfast snack, map our story of the week, and “battle” in teams that resemble academic team competitions complete with buzzers.
