Iowa and CogAt Testing
All third grade students in the district will be tested in the areas of General Intellectual Ability, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Students who completed an interest form and District Recommendation Committee (DRC) recommends are tested.
December
Parents receive notification if students have qualified for GTAP
February 4th
GTAP Open House
February/March
School tours and shadowing experiences are available for students who qualify.
March 1st
Special Programs Open House on Tates Creek Campus. More information to come.
March
Shadow experiences and small group tours will be scheduled for interested families who have applied through school mint.
April 1st
Elementary GTAP Offers are Extended via School Mint

Parents can appeal decisions made by the program manager and District Recommendation Committee during this process. The appeal process can be found here.
School Tours
Meadowthorpe will offer families tours of the school several times during the winter and spring. These are chances for families to come see our school in action. Students are encouraged to attend the tours. If your student has received communication that they qualify for GTAP at Meadowthorpe, you can use the link below to sign up for a tour. If your student did not receive communication about the GTAP program, but you would like to learn more, please contact Mr. Parks.
Shadow Experiences
GTAP offers opportunities for students to come and a spend half or whole day shadowing a student currently in the program. This experience gives students the chance to see what GTAP is like on any given day. These experiences start at approximately 8:00 am and end at either 12:00 pm or 2:00 pm depending on student/family preference. If your student has received communication that they qualify for GTAP at Meadowthorpe, you can use the link below to sign up for a shadowing day.
