Scholarships are financial aid awards designed to help students pay for an undergraduate degree. Sometimes a scholarship is a one-time check. Other school scholarships are renewable and provide money for students each semester or school year. These awards differ from student loans in that they don't have to be repaid. Register your KHEAA account to track your KEES money.
Check with your College and Career Coach or Counselor for local scholarship details or applications.
This workbook will help you organize all the information you gather and keep track of all the scholarships your research and apply to.
Remember that finding private scholarships is a numbers game. The more scholarships you research and apply for, the better your chance of winning them. Make it a habit of searching for them with the goal of spending at least 15 mins per day looking for private scholarships and adding them to your list.
FCPS has gathered helpful material for families seeking scholarship information and related resources. We encourage students in grades 9-12 to consider all their options! Please direct questions to your high school's guidance office or your college and career coach.
