This is our cozy nook for all the information regarding our book club, resources, and Exhibition of Learning.
(Formerly known as the Passion Project Showcase.)
Students will complete a project inspired by one of the books on our reading list. Students may begin work on their project once they have submitted their plans to Ms. Depenbrock and have received her approval. Beginning in February (tentatively), our meetings will revolve around completing our projects for a judged exhibition in May. All Page Turners are required to complete one passion project.
For those who do not make it into The Page Turners, you can still participate in the Exhibition of Learning!
Any Maxwell student may participate in the Exhibition of Learning independent of the afterschool club. They can do so upon notifying Ms. Depenbrock in writing including a parent signature. Those students will receive a copy of documents for planning and scheduling in the spring semester. It is the student’s full responsibility to maintain progress on reading from our book list and their project. It is the student’s full responsibility to complete check-ins with Ms. Depenbrock during the spring semester regarding individual progress, to ask questions, and to seek guidance when necessary. Any individual participating in the tiered competitions must abide by the same rules as the students in the Page Turner book club.
We will use these interview questions as the foundation for our conversation with students are applying to join the afterschool book club. Based on students' answers, we may ask follow-up questions.
