Five simple things you can do to promote literacy at any age:
Engage in meaningful conversation everyday (in the car, at the dinnertable, during bedtime, and more).
Keep your langauge elevated. Refrain from "dumbing down" vocabulary. If your child doesn't understand a word, define it and give it additional context.
Work as a team when running errands. If you're at the grocery store, work on mental calculations, read the labels together, talk out your decision making.
Is it movie night? Turn on the captions! At first, it may feel annoying, but viewers quickly get used to them and learn new words a long the way.
Establish a family reading routine. Build stamina by starting with short periods of time to read together or indepedently. To be most effective, electronics should be out of reach at this time!

We are always updating our collection! Visit our Amazon Wishlist to see what we'd love to add to our library.
Celebrate a birthday by donating a book to our library, a gift that will last for years to come!
If you choose a book, make sure the hardback or library-bound format is selected. This will ensure students can easily find the books on the shelves, and they will last much longer!
Amazon may not provide an option to leave a note that tells me who donated the item. Feel free to email me what you have donated so we can honor your donation on a bookplate!
