About me
Hello, families! My name is Mrs. Finney. I am the GT teacher at Happy Hollow and Washington. This is my 24th year in education and my 8th teaching GT! I have 3 grown boys and recently added 2 daughter-n-laws to our family! My husband and I and our boys are graduates of FPS and we love this community!
Frequently Asked Questions for Parents
How can I access information about the GT program and testing process?
The Fayetteville Public Schools GT website can be found here. Send me an email with further questions!
When will my child meet for GT?
Your child meets with grade-level peers who are also identified for GT services. My Washington students meet on Mondays and Tuesdays, and my Happy Hollow students meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please reach out for more specific times.
Because GT services are provided in replacement of rather than in addition to other classroom work, your child will not be expected to make up tasks completed while they are in GT (with the exception of some tests and major projects). However, they are responsible for knowing the content that was learned during that time.
What will my child be learning this year?
Check out your child's grade-level tab for information about what they will be learning!
I keep the updates section on the home page current, so you can see what we are currently working on.
What supplies does the GT classroom need?
Students do not need any additional supplies for GT! We have pencils, binders, and all of our unit supplies.
