Has worked at ADHUS/FAUHS for 10 years
Currently works as the High School Records and Data Specialist
Coordinates the substitute system for both A.D. Henderson University School and FAU High School
I was originally hired in fall of 2011 as a substitute. I became a permanent sub in 2014, and then transitioned to the front office in 2015, managing attendance and overseeing substitutes. In 2017 I transitioned to high school records and data specialist while continuing to oversee subs.
Being new to school records and data systems I have worked hard to become proficient in most office applications. I have additionally taken part in many trainings, webinars, and conferences related to the FOCUS database, such as the FOCUS Users Conference and Training during the 2018, 2020, and 2022 school years. When able, I participate in the Florida DOE conferences and trainings as well. Often my education on related work topics comes in the form of research of state statutes & regulations, and additionally the research of new products for development in the FOCUS database, such as enrollment & re-enrollment forms, and the new billing module. I have also taken part in the FAMIS (FL Association of MIS) training in 2018, and the Level 1 Certification Database Training for FOCUS in 2019.
I don't have any specific awards, recognitions or commendations, just a million little thank yous.
I have seen firsthand as a parent, and now as an employee, how each person at this school is such an important force in a student’s education and ultimately their lives. As a prior sub, front office receptionist, attendance manager, and ultimately in the role I now play, my goal has always been to contribute to our Henderson team. I have had the opportunity to support parents by assisting with admissions, enrollment, re-enrollment, and their child’s educational records. I have also been able to provide support to teachers by working with them, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning, to find sub coverage for their classroom, help them with database concerns or even database shortcuts to make their jobs easier. I have had the pleasure of working with our non-instructional support staff such as our ESE or guidance teams providing reports, high school schedule support, prior school data and database support. Daily I work with the front office team, nurse, and administration in ensuring the school, as a whole, has what is needed to excel, whether that is a special project, district support, parent communication, or a deep dive into student records. Lastly, it is always a privilege to interact with our students, whether hopping into a classroom when a teacher or sub is delayed, receiving health or academic documents, or providing transcripts to our current students and our over 1000 graduates.
In a school like ours each person immensely impacts, both directly and indirectly, the lives of our co-workers, parents, and students. I am constantly in awe of the shared goal to improve students’ academic journey, and provide them with the best educational experience imaginable. I am honored to be a part of something as special as A.D. Henderson and FAU High School.
