Requirements

Affiliates

Affiliate members are open to freshmen and sophomores. A student shall be considered for an affiliate membership if all the following conditions are met. The prospective candidate:

1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

2. Registered Pre-Business student at Florida Atlantic University

3. Membership fee of $30. If the student chooses to become a candidate when eligible, the $30 will be credited to their application dues.

A student may maintain affiliate status only until the student has completed 3 credit hours or more of accounting upper level classes (3000 level or above).

Candidates

1. Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent.

   1. Have a 3.0 cumulative grade average where (A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent on the most recent 60 semester hours completed up to the date of election, or 

   2. Have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent on the most recent 30 semester hours of coursework completed up to the date of election. 

2. Obtain a minimum of 8 hours of Professional Development (each BAP workshop is worth 1.5 hours).

3. Obtain a minimum of 8 hours of Community Service.

4. Obtain 2 additional hours of either Professional Development or Community Service
