I start off thinking of a project for our capstone and end up with the idea of making a drone that has some special features like camera and follow me. I then start looking for members and hire a lot of people. We started our first few steps by working on our log and ordering our part (that part may have been all on Jeff)
The group got big very fast because a lot "refugees" want to join us. (People who don't have groups and just want to act like they are in one and do absolutely nothing smuggling their way to a easy passing grade) Our group somehow stabilized to around 10 to 13 people. We made our Gantt chart as well.
We used some of Mr. Gerl's tools, experience, advice, and tips. We also used his Tello drone to understand how a drone really works. this led to the idea of delivery systems with drones, with in built code. we got a better understanding of how to really plan which helped us with future scheduling.
We got more supplies and kits. we also got more drones to give us an easier way to experiment and understand. using our new and more efficient ways of planning, we are progressing much faster.
We made the idea to make multiple drones. but each drone will be a different size. On our list we had 1 small drone and 1 big drone. there was a group management issue too. A dispute was happening that we had too many people in our group and most of them didn't do much. Also too many people begging us to let them join. The main problem is that we didn't know who to kick out without hurting their feelings. But at the end we manged to kick some people out leaving us with around 6 to 7 members instead of 10 to 15. The rest were able to understand that there is no easy way to get a hard grade. From then on we closed the gates for allowing people to join our group.
At this point started to focus more on circuit boarding and getting frames for the drones. Mr. Gerl's 3D printer came in handy for the first one. Unfortunately for us, our group kind of had a "Civil War". Half of our group decided to leave us for good making their own drone. Now we only had 3 and a half group members. (the half is one person we are not sure of). But we had to accept it and go on with a much simpler group to handle with.
