This course focuses on the relationship between between humans and their natural environment and the lasting impacts of these interactions. This course reveals how we impact the environment and how the environment shapes us. Students will find they play an essential role in Human Geography as they make connections to their daily lives as we all live Human Geography!
AP United States History ➟ 10th Grade: fulfills 10th Grade Social Studies Credit ➟ 11th-12th Grade: fulfills 12th Grade Social Studies Credit
Students will explore a deeper understanding of how the forces (like government or powerful groups) impact people's lives. Students investigate significant events, individuals, developments, and processes in nine historical periods from approximately 1941 to the present. Discussion is key in this class, as students wrestle with facts, theories, and philosophies to weave together coherent and accurate stories about the way America and its people evolved over time.
AP US Government & Politics ➟ 11th grade, fulfills 11th grade Participation in Democracy Credit
Students will develop an understanding of the structure, function, and processes of the US government and political system. Through discussion and debate, students will explore concepts such as constitutional principles, political beliefs and behaviors, media impact, civil rights, and more. Students will engage with foundational documents, evaluate the role of citizen and interest group in the democratic process and develop informed opinions on political issues.
*Because Participation in Democracy is paired with Modern Hawaiian History, you will need to work with your counselor to see what half credit course can be taken with Modern Hawaiian History since this AP course will cover your Participation in Democracy credit.
AP Psychology ➟ 11th-12th Grade, fulfills 12th Grade Social Studies Credit

This course draws from life science, earth science, and physical science. This class will provide students with the principles, concepts, and methodologies to understand the natural world, analyze environmental problems, and examine solutions for resolving them. This course relies on multiple field trips and labs. Prerequisites are two Science lab courses (one Life and one Physical type of Science) and Algebra I.

This course is a lecture and laboratory-based life science course. The topics covered are the chemistry of life, the structure and function of cells, metabolism with an emphasis on cellular respiration and photosynthesis, Mendelian and molecular genetics, mechanisms of evolution, biological diversity and taxonomy, plants and animals, and community ecology. Prerequisite is Biology.

This course is designed for students who show a commitment to artistic excellence. AP Art and Design is not based on a written exam, students will submit a portfolio for evaluation. In this course, students will develop skills in producing high quality works of art. A wide range of materials and processes will be further explored, and students will have the opportunity to focus on a chosen subject or medium.
*There are two types of portfolio students can choose from for their AP exam: 2-D and Drawing. Students samples maybe requested prior to taking the course to help guide which portfolio to work towards for the exam.
