USING THE LRCS
What is the LRC?
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) comprises four silent study areas in the college: LRC Lower Bagnall, LRC Upper Bagnall and the Library, and LRC Whitehouse which is for timetabled lessons only. These areas are great spaces to focus inbetween lessons. We also provide physical and online resources, as well as many other services which you may choose to use throughout your time at college.
What's in the LRCs?
Across our LRCs we have over 160 computers for you to use (with an additional 130 in LRC Whitehouse for lessons), as well as printers and chromebooks that are available to borrow in the Library on a first-come-first-serve basis. We also have a wide range of resources in the Library for you to borrow - there will be more detail of this in the second induction.
How do you study in an LRC?
You don't need to book a seat or a computer, it's first-come-first-serve. All of the LRCs are silent, independent study only, and we ask that you don't eat in these rooms. Make sure if you are bringing a drink that it has a secure lid. If you need to do group work, please use Courtyard or Greenhouse.
What times are we open and when do we close?
Lower Bagnall 8.00am-4.30pm (Mon-Thu) 8.00am-4.10pm (Fri)
Upper Bagnall 9.00am-2.30pm (Daily)
Library 8.00am-4.00pm (Mon-Thu) 8.00am-3.30pm (Fri)
Whitehouse Timetabled lessons for second year students only
Please note, opening and closing times are subject to change.
Why can the LRCs close sometimes?
Sometimes exams take place in these rooms which can lead to closure. We always do our best to provide alternative space for students, just make sure to read college news for up-to-date notices.
If you have any questions about an exam you are taking, please contact Registry.
How can you get support in the LRC?
We have a team of LRC staff ready to support you. Just ask at any of the desks and we will do our best to help, or email us at lrc@farnborough.ac.uk
Don't forget to submit your completion form before proceeding to the next induction.
