How do you borrow an item from the Library?
To borrow an item, simply take it up to the desk in the Library and we'll put it on your account.
How many items can you borrow at a time? How long can you take them out for? How can you renew items?
You can borrow up to 3 items at any one time, for 2 weeks. You can renew them up to 3 times as long as nobody else has reserved the item. To renew an item, you can either ask a member of the LRC team at any of our desks, email us at lrc@farnborough.ac.uk or log-in to your Accessit account and renew the book there.
Where can you return items once you're finished with them?
When you're done, pop the item into the returns box in the middle of Lower Bagnall LRC or take it to the Library desk.
Do you have to pay fees if you return an item late?
Unlike public libraries, we do not charge overdue fees but we will send constant reminders until items are returned! Please aim to get your borrowed items back to us as soon as you are finished with them so other people can access these resources.
How do you reserve an item?
On Accessit (Library Catalogue System) you can reserve items to enter you into a queue for that item. The next induction will go through this in more detail.
When your reserve has been processed, we will find the item for you, place it on the reservations trolley and you will be emailed a notification that the item is ready for collection.
What other services does the Library provide?
Free Library services that you could sign-up for include:
Book Club
The Reading Revival
Book Buzz newsletter
Can you request an item?
In some cases we will purchase items requested by students. If there is an item you would like for us to stock, please ask at any of our desks or email lrc@farnborough.ac.uk.
Don't forget to submit your completion form before proceeding to the next induction.
