Politics (A level)

How democratic is the UK?  What is freedom?  Will the Labour party finally win a General Election? What will happen next in Ukraine? Israel/Palestine? If you take an interest in these sorts of questions, this course will certainly be of interest to you.  Politics is an ever-changing field of study which explores the ‘here and now’ of decision making in the UK and beyond.

We study British politics from Thatcher's win in 1979 to the present day and Global Politics starting at the end of the Cold War in the early 1990s to present.

Apart from students who are interested in Politics, others decide to take our course because we touch on recent British and World history and political ideologies. This makes Politics an excellent complementary course for students who are also interested in History, Philosophy, Law, Sociology, Economics, English Literature ... you name it!

Be warned: this subject will change the way you think. Studying politics will open your eyes to the world around you and ultimately, make you a more interesting person.
