THE BIG 3
Show Me Nominees
The purpose of the Show Me Readers Award is to promote literature, literacy, and reading in Missouri elementary schools for students in first, second and third grade, and to promote recognition of authors and illustrators of books that are favorites of Missouri children in these grades. The winner of the annual Show Me Readers Award is selected by students in grades one through three. These books are read to students throughout the year by the librarian!
Mark Twain Nominees
Each year, Missouri schoolchildren in grades 4-6 vote for their favorite book from a list of nominated titles. The Mark Twain Award is awarded to the author of this book by the Missouri Association of School Librarians. 3rd and 4th graders have the opportunity to be in the 'Mark Twain Club' when they read a certain amount of Mark Twain nominees/winners.
