Password Orange - Privacy Policy

Password Orange is a password safe for Windows, Android and iPhone. This policy explains what happens to your information. In short: your passwords are only ever readable on your own devices. We cannot see them.
What the app stores on your device
The passwords, usernames and notes you save are stored on your device, encrypted with a key made from your PIN and protected again by your device's own security (Windows account protection, the Android Keystore or the iPhone Keychain).
Sync (optional)
If you choose to create a sync account, the app keeps your passwords the same on your devices through our sync service, which runs on Google Firebase (Google Cloud, servers in Belgium).
What we store: your email address (to sign you in) and a locked copy of your saved passwords.
- Your passwords are locked on your device before they are sent, with a key made from your sync password. Your sync password never leaves your device. Nobody except you can read the locked copy - not us, not Google.
- We do not use your email address for anything except signing you in to sync. We never send you marketing email and never sell or share your data.
- You can delete your sync account and the cloud copy at any time in the app (Sync > Delete my sync account). Your passwords then stay only on your devices.
- If you do not create a sync account, the app does not send any of your data anywhere.
No ads, no tracking
There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
Camera
The camera is used only when you choose to scan QR codes on the Import tab, to read transfer codes made by the app on your other devices. No pictures are saved or sent anywhere.
Face ID (iPhone)
If you turn on Face ID unlock, the check is done entirely by iOS. The app never receives or stores your face data.
Exports and backups
When you export passwords or make a backup, the data is encrypted with a transfer code or your backup password. Where you keep those files is your choice; we never receive them.
Children
The app is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page.
