Game Notes

The No. 23 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (7-1-6, 5-1 CC) readies for two Centennial Conference (CC) games this week. The Diplomats host a battle of top-25 teams when it welcomes No. 6 Dickinson (12-1-2, 3-1-2 CC) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. F&M then travels to Gettysburg (4-4-5, 1-3-2 CC) on Saturday for a matchup with the Bullets at 7:00 p.m.

Last Week

The Diplomats fell in its lone contest last week, falling to Johns Hopkins on the road, 2-1. JHU, a team receiving votes in the national poll, jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute. However, F&M came right back with a goal from Adam Green in the 37th minute to tie the game at 1-1. A goal in the 72nd minute from the Blue Jays was the deciding factor, however, as the Diplomats couldn't find the back of the net for a second time. Franklin & Marshall had its chances on offense with 23 total shots and 10 shots on net. F&M also had 11 corner kicks and held the Blue Jays to just two in the contest. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Dickinson

In the Diplomats' 2-0 win over Dickinson last season, Jack Baer registered his first-career goal just two minutes into the contest. F&M added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute of the match on a strike from Owen Sobel '24. Both Oscar Horwitz and Koa Kaliebe were credited with assists in the win. F&M outshot Dickinson, 11-10, in the victory. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Gettysburg

The Diplomats celebrated Senior Night by shutting down Gettysburg, 1-0, on a 61st minute score by Baer during last season's matchup. Nolan Booth needed just two saves to pick up his fourth shutout of the season and the sixth clean sheet of his career. Read the full recap here. 

Dickinson Team Preview

The No. 6 Red Devils' lone loss this season came against Muhlenberg, 4-2, on September 28 in Dickinson's second CC game of the year. Since then, Dickinson is 4-0-1 with a 2-2 tie coming against Swarthmore last Saturday.  Ethan Jarden is tied for the most goals in the Centennial Conference with nine so far this season. Jarden is also the team-leader in points with 19 this year. Meanwhile, Nicholas Dwamena and Saul Iwowo are tied for the team-high in assists with five each. Goalkeeper Aidan George sports a goals-against average of 0.97 and a save percentage of 71.1 percent.

Gettysburg Team Preview

Before hosting F&M on Saturday, the Bullets welcome McDaniel on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Gettysburg is 1-1-1 in its last three games, with a 1-0 win coming against Johns Hopkins on October 12. Chase Sempervive leads the Bullets in both goals (eight) and points (16) so far this year. James Blake has Gettysburg's team-high in assist with four this season. Goalkeeper Leandro Ribeiro holds a 1.08 goals-against average and a save percentage of 68.3 percent.
