The Bears defeated F&M 28-0 in their last meeting in 2021.

Game Notes

The Franklin & Marshall football team (2-1, 1-1 CC) will welcome Ursinus (2-1, 1-1 CC) Saturday at 1:00 p.m. During the game, F&M will honor the 50th anniversary of the undefeated 1972 team.

Last Week

A three-touchdown performance from Aaron Rascoe helped the Diplomats defeat McDaniel 35-3 in their first CC game of the 2022 season. Rascoe had two first quarter touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving) to help put F&M ahead early. Bobby Buchys returned an interception 16 yards for the score and F&M's second pick-six of the season. McDaniel kicked a field goal right before the halftime break to make the score 21-3.

After halftime, Rascoe picked up where he left off, capping a 54-yard drive with an eight-yard rushing touchdown. The junior ran for 112 yards on 13 attempts, with his longest being a 22 yard run in the third quarter. The final touchdown of the game came on a three yard run by Mitch Wagner to put F&M ahead 35-3.

Franklin & Marshall rushed for 221 yards and racked up 292 total offensive yards in the win. The Diplomat defense limited McDaniel to only 72 yards rushing in the win. The defense also tallied three interceptions in the game. Read the recap here.

Last Time

Three touchdowns in the third quarter helped Ursinus shutout F&M 28-0 last season. The Diplomats only produced 218 yards of total offense in the game. Tim Walter had two catches for 57 yards. Read the recap here.

The last F&M win over Ursinus was in the 2019 season where the Diplomats cruised to a 44-16 victory over the Bears. Keshon Farmer '21 rushed for 121 yards on 19 attempts, scoring three touchdowns. Garrett Perschy '20 tossed two touchdowns and totaled 170 yards through the air. F&M totaled 373 offensive yards in the win. The Diplomat defense also tallied three interceptions. 1972 Franklin & Marshall Football

On Saturday, F&M will honor the 50th anniversary of the undefeated 1972 football team. Under second-year head coach Bob Curtis, the '72 team finished with a perfect 9-0 record en route to it's second league championship in as many years. It was the second of four-straight league championships for F&M. The Diplomats earned the Division III Lambert Trophy that season, the era’s most coveted football award, keeping Franklin & Marshall in the company of Penn State and Delaware as the top teams of the East.

Ursinus Team Preview

The Bears enter Saturday's game with a 2-1 overall record, and a 1-1 record against CC teams. UC beat Alvernia 59-27 to start the season before losing to 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins 36-29. Ursinus got back into the win column with a 35-28 victory over 18th-ranked Muhlenberg. Running back Tony Holden averages 144 yards a game, tallying four touchdowns this fall. Quarterback Jack Psenicska averages 271 yards per game through the air and has a completion percentage of 53.7 percent. Ursinus this season has outscored opponents 123-91 and averages 41 points per game. The Bears are ranked 26th in total offense across Division III, averaging 486.3 yards per game.
