Adjusting
Adjusting is a major component of study abroad. Because of the new foods, unfamiliar behaviors, and the new language, we all need to adjust to American culture. Depending on your personality and your level of immersion in the American culture, each of you will face different challenges during the adjustment period. While some students find adjusting to a new environment easy, the adjusting process can be challenging and stressful for others.
