+1 Pedagogy is a project we designed to create learning environments that are accessible and effective for all students, regardless of their individual differences. The idea is for you to add one small practice to your pedagogy toolbox each semester or each year. Over time, you'll add layers of accessibility and engagement, generating more and more inclusive learning experiences.

Our goals are:

• to help you create expert learners, not just expert students

• to help you lower barriers to access, not dumb things down or create a lack of rigor

• to help you avoid burning out by feeling like you are trying to do all the things for all the people and all the possible cases, all the time

We will introduce a new theme every academic year.

Within that theme, we will share a +1 practice you can add to your course planning.  

You can incorporate the +1 in any way that you see fit. It can be one module, one course, or everything you teach - totally up to you! 

You can engage however you wish. You're welcome to attend our in-person and virtual workshops, lurk, or stick to this website. 

This site will have all the resources you need to get started, as they become available. Email announcements will be made of upcoming in-person and virtual events.
