Follow the remaining screen prompts to create the new google account using your non-@gmail.com email address. You will create a "Google" specific password too; as seen below. This password should be different/unique than your preferred email password.

Google will send a confirmation notice to your other email address asking you to verify your new google account. Your normal email account and Google account are separate accounts. You're simply using your preferred email address vs. a @GMAIL.COM specific address to get access to the portal site. If you use a company email address, this solution may not work because your company security policies may not allow this type of "Linked" account. If this is the case, you will need to use a different email account.
