Matching Loops

Matching loops

To get started in Soundation, you need to know how to add loops from the library and match the speed of those loops so they sound good together.

To add a loop to your song:

  • Open the Audio Loops folder
  • Open one of the style folders
  • Double-click on a loop to listen to it
  • To add a loop to your song, drag and drop the loop onto an audio channel

Notice the speed of the song in the image below, the lower right number saying “110.” That is the speed of the song.

  • For a song to sound its best, the loops should have the same number. That number appears at the beginning of the loop name (see image below).
  • You can change the speed of a song by double-clicking the large number at the bottom, typing the number you want, then hitting enter.

To extend a loop, click the upper right hand corner of the loop and drag it to the right. Hit the play button at the bottom of the screen to listen to your song.

When your song starts to sound good to you, save your song (file -> save) as “Matching loops." After you save your song the first time, all you need to do is file -> save and it will update the saved file. Make sure to save frequently so you don’t lose your work!
