"Ronald Fluellen, a.k.a. "Flu" was an educator at Fair Lawn High School from 1975 through to his retirement in 1995. Flu was FLHS 's Choral Director, Humanities Teacher, and Music Theory Teacher and also served as Choraliers, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir Director. Mr. Fluellen also vocally directed and produced the annual musical. He left the music faculty to go on to become a Guidance Counselor at the school. "Flu" was well respected and loved by his students."

Sheriff Anthony Cureton Visits Fair Lawn High School
On December 19, 2019, the Fair Lawn High School Black Student Union (BSU) welcomed Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton to Fair Lawn High School. He is the first elected African American sheriff in Bergen County history and the former Bergen County NAACP president. Sheriff Cureton spent the morning talking to students from the American Politics, Criminal Law, SGA, the Fair Lawn Police Explorers (Post 902), and BSU about his professional, political, and educational journey.
