Sankofa was one of the most glorious aspects of my undergrad years, and this troupe is still going!! Participating in this group 30 years ago changed my life. Living and breathing the movement, songs and traditions of this mythical, inclusive, life-affirming dance opened my eyes not only to a world I didn't know about - it also connected me with something deep and universal that I still carry with me every step of the day even now.
