School to Work

School to Work Procedures

If you have School to Work during A block or both A and B blocks:

• If you have School to work during A block only, on Day A you are expected to arrive at school by 7:35 for Period 1, which is B block. On days B-G, your arrival time is 8:35.

• If you have School to work for both A and B blocks, on Days A and B you will arrive at 8:35 for your period 2 class, which is C block class. On days C-G you will arrive at 9:35.

• When you arrive you must scan the QR code using the camera on your phone to sign in. That is how your attendance will be taken.

• You will wait in the Rotunda for the bell to ring for the passing period on days B-G. You cannot sign in early and wander around the building.

• Your homeroom is 107M. You will report here on A days. Please check with the front desk for appointment slips and other materials that are normally handed out in homeroom on days B-G.

If you have School to Work F and/or G

• When you leave you must scan the QR code with your phone to sign out.

• You must exit through the Front Doors ONLY.

• Required Documentation:

• You CANNOT begin leaving early or coming in late until you return the signed School to Work Contract to Ms. Sabeh (Please note that it requires 3 different signatures). 

• Proof of weekly employment:

  • This can be a copy or picture of your weekly or biweekly pay stub.

  • You may also have your employer sign the biweekly verification form (attached).

  • Put your stub or verification form in the labeled box in the guidance office or take a picture of it and email it to Ms. Sabeh. (The best way!!)

  • This must be done weekly if you get paid weekly or biweekly if you get paid biweekly.

GENERAL ACADEMIC and BEHAVIORAL Standards:

• • You must stay in good academic and behavioral standing to remin in the program:

    1. Disciplinary measures will be taken if you leave without signing out and/or use the back doors. 

    2. If you are in danger of failing core classes (taken during the same semester), you will be given a warning and a chance to improve your grades and/or make-up required assignments. THIS COULD ENTAIL staying in school during the assigned School to Work blocks to acquire academic support or complete the required work.

    3. If you receive a failing grade in School to Work in Term 1, you will lose your priviliges of leaving the building early (or coming in late), until progress reports for Term 2 are posted and you receive a passing grade.

    4. If you end up failing any core class in Semester 1, you will NOT BE ALLOWED to enroll in School to Work in Semester 2.

    5. At the conclusion of each semester, it is mandatory for you to submit a FINAL assignment, which will be shared by Ms. Sabeh. The submission of this final assignment is essential for obtaining a passing grade for the semester, in addition to the submission of timesheets.
